Join us in the pursuit of a just energy transition!
We, Beyond Fossil Fuels (BFF), are an alliance of passionate civil society groups committed to transforming the European energy sector. We strive for a just transition to a fossil-free, fully renewables-based energy system that protects people, nature, and our planet. As an independent campaign, we are driven by a fierce dedication to ending our reliance on coal by 2030 and fossil gas by 2035 with a focus on the power sector. With your help, we can create a brighter, cleaner, and more equitable future for all.
This campaign is supported by a BFF secretariat, consisting of 25 people and spread across Europe.
We're excited to introduce a new role. As part of the BFF secretariat, the Program Lead will spearhead the design, creation, and coordination of a continent-wide campaign aimed at shifting corporate players away from coal and gas towards a renewable-based, efficient, electrified business model. This campaign will target a wide range of corporate players, including non-energy corporations, energy companies, and private financial institutions. The Program Lead will be responsible for coordinating a team of corporate campaigners and collaborating with a diverse range of partner organisations and allies, both within Europe and globally.
Don’t feel like you meet all the criteria? We understand that confidence can sometimes be a barrier when it comes to job applications. But let us tell you a secret: there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. If this role sparks your enthusiasm, we want to hear from you.
As the Program Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing, in collaboration with the coalition, the overarching BFF campaign strategy for corporate entities across energy companies, financial institutions, and non-energy corporations, while working closely with the secretariat corporate campaigners, partner organisations, and allies.
- Collaborating with partner organisations to design and execute a campaign specifically targeting non-energy corporations and sectors that rely on fossil-based energy.
- Identifying gaps and capacity needs, and establishing appropriate working structures together with partners. Additionally, you will support, oversee, and convene the necessary coalition working structures to implement the campaign strategy.
- Activating and supporting partners, particularly at the national level, during the development and implementation of the strategy.
- Serving as a bridge between the partners working on corporate campaigning and other energy-related initiatives outside of our coalition that focus on corporations relevant to our European strategy.
- Identifying opportunities for synergies and contributions from other BFF campaign areas of work that will help with the corporate strategy, and vice versa.
- Planning and coordinating campaign pushes and moments.
- Overseeing the corporate campaign activity budget, as well as contributing to the coalition and secretariat planning.
- Coordinating and line-managing a team of campaigners working on corporations, private finance, and utilities.
